Richard C. Bauer was born and raised in Saginaw, Michigan and completed his B.S. degree in chemistry at Saginaw Valley State University. While pursuing his under-graduate degree he worked at Dow Chemical as a student technologist. He pursued Masters and Ph.D. degrees in Chemistry Education at Purdue University under the direction of Dr. George Bonner. After Purdue, he spent two years at Clemson University as a visiting assistant professor. He is currently the Faculty director for natural science and mathematics at the downtown Phoenix Campus of Arizona State University.
